Project done under the context of an animated type class I took at SCAD. The mandate was to design and/or animated a film we enjoyed. I chose the classic "Metropolis" because I like the stories' contrast between things that are Mechanical (like the workers) and organic (like the humans). Using the idea of an elevator, I chose to illustrate the decent from this Utopian paradise to the dystopian world of the industry worker. Some of my influences were obviously the Art deco movement of the time as well as old Swiss coo coo clocks. As for the text, i could not find a font i liked with the project so i decided to draw one. (see below for font design)
